Kids World preschool program follows Dr. Maria Montessori's method of learning for children ages 2-5 years. A teaching method in which is; based on the observation of children interest, needs, and characteristics.

Our classroom goals

 

  • To carefully prepare our learning environment to meet the needs of every student;

  • To promote social, cognitive, and physical development.

  • To provide a peaceful learning community;

  • To provide self-directed activities with gentle guidance from teacher;

  • To provide an intimate learning environment with mostly individual or small group lessons.

Areas of Focus 

Practical Life

Materials that foster basic life skills; can be used with minimal instruction - develops increased concentration, attention span, independence, self-confidence, and physical coordination.

 

Sensorial​​

Materials pertain to each of the five senses.

 

Math

Step-by-step sequence; moves from concrete to abstract - child experiences the quantity before learning the numeral (the abstract representation of that quantity).

Language

Verbal language and listening skills, phonemic awareness, reading and writing development, and children’s literature - materials follow a natural, stress-free progression.

Science/Cultural or “Cosmic Education”

Exploring the world around them

-Rocks and Minerals

Art/Music & Movement

Art (creative work) - painting, sculpting, drawing, gluing, cutting; movement and music -  songs, rhythm instruments, balance and control on the line, yoga, non-competitive games, and music appreciation.
